Well the title says it all doesn’t it!
So how was your Christmas? Hope it was as fun as mine was, we didn’t do anything big, just a gathering with the family which was nice though this time it was at our home which made for a nice change as usually as we go to Nanna’s place each year. But I think Mum somewhat insisted as it was our 1st Christmas in our new home she wanted to fill it with family and celebrate here.
So Nanna bundled up the cousins and landed on our doorstep around 11am car packed to the brim with food, drink and gifts to be added to our already overstuffed fridge and Christmas tree. Then with everything in it’s place and everyone in their seats it was time to let the wrapping on the pressents explode and fill the loungeroom and the day of nibbling yummy food, sipping yummy drinks, watching good movies and generally having fun begin! That’s our Christmas day in a nut shell really, quiet – yes but I wouldn’t change it for anything else as the people I loved were surrounding me and we all got spoilt, over fed and had a lot of laughs!
New Years Eve -again a quiet affair, this time it was only me, my sibblings and my HPs. I LOVE New Years Eve for one thing and one thing only really….the glow sticks! And Mum didn’t dissapoint. I made sure I checked the supplies she placed on the table that afternoon to make sure she had enough and was thrilled to see there was more glow items then last year! EXCITED!!
This was also Chloe, Benni and Hicks’s 1st NYE with us so they were a little unsure as to what to expect but once the hats were on, the food was nibbled and decorations in full array they were just as excited as I was….the Mum turned the lights out! Tension rose for just a second until Dad “cracked” the 1st stick and then it was all on! Glow-stick mania everywhere!! Chloe claimed all the pink ones (though she is the ONLY one in the house that actually likes that colour so she didn’t have much of a fight there), Hicks as usual claimed all the green….Dad and Benaud had a face off over who was getting the blue and who was having the orange…..Benni wound up with the orange and Mum was stuck with what was left over….the yellow. Luckily Sheedie and I were pretty small so we each pinched a green and yellow for ourselves and kept out of reach.
That was until Benni and Hicks caught me and “caged” me inside the blue glow-ball just as the countdown to midnight began! Brothers!!
All fun though, at midnight we popped off party poppers, went outside and played with lots of sparklers (under the close supervision of both HPs of course as Sparklers can be dangerous and are not toys) and then back inside for more party poppers and watch some more video clips on SBS Pop Aisa for a bit before calling it a night.
A pretty awesome time was had by all. So now I want to take the time and wish you all reading this a very very Happy New Year and I hope 2015 is fun and exciting for you and your loved ones, filled with love, good health and lots of fun! Here’s to a wonderful year and thanks for reading!
